Education

Service learning project Impact is a national award-winning high school program that promotes science, water education and civic responsibility through service-based learning that provides meaningful community service with academic study. Built on the four CORE values of Community, Ownership, Responsibility and Education, Impact encourages students to develop their own water ethic and empowers them to positively influence our environment, society and economy.

There are three opportunities to become involved with Impact: a service learning curriculum; presentations and field trips; and through service learning groups called Impact Teams and participation in an annual high school water conference.

Impact is the recipient of:

  • Water Environment Federation's 2015 Public Education Award
  • The National Association Of Clean Water Agencies' 2016 Public Information and Education Agency Achievement Award - Educational Program
  • The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality's 2016 Texas Environmental Excellence Award – Education
  • The Water Environment Association of Texas and Texas Section - American Water Works Association's 2016 Watermark Award.
