Student Programs

A knowledgeable, skilled, and active youth citizenry is a key to resolving the environmental issues that promise to become increasingly important into the new century. While our schools play a major role, cultivating environmental literacy is a task that neither begins nor ends with formal education. Many parts of our society shape attitudes toward the environment - family, peers, religion, community, interest groups, government, the media to name a few. To that end, SAWS has implemented a school age strategy that uses water as a catalyst to promote science and civic responsibility through presentations, field investigations, service opportunities and other resources. All are free of charge and customized to be age appropriate.
