Their Future Begins Now!
Confluence is a groundbreaking summit for high school students to explore the water issues facing San Antonio and devise ways they can make a difference. The one-day summit expects more than 1,000 students from 30 public and private schools to participate in the inaugural event. Confluence will focus on five water issues: water quality; water availability; shared resources; affordability; and grease in our sewers.
Some Confluence highlights include:
- Opening remarks by Mayor Julián Castro.
- A performance by Kevin Barnes, The Green Magician.
- 20 professional exhibitors, including the National Weather Service, the Edwards Aquifer Authority and meteorologist Alex Garcia.
- A lounge area to meet Café College representatives and college recruiters.
The free event includes lunch for 50 students per school, and transportation reimbursement will be available.
