Fire Hydrant Meter Rates
SAWS may authorize a meter to be connected temporarily to a fire hydrant during construction operations in lieu of installing a temporary service line provided the customer:
- Executes a contract for a meter on a fire hydrant
- Pays a customer account deposit
- Assumes responsibility for the safekeeping of the meter, fitting, and fire hydrant,
- Pays the charges set out in the charge schedules
- Complies with SAWS backflow prevention requirements
Customer’s whose main office is located inside Bexar County will be required to pay a $910 deposit, prior to obtaining a fire hydrant meter.
Customer’s whose main office is located outside Bexar County will be required to pay a $1060 deposit, prior to obtaining a fire hydrant meter.
