Year Round Landscape Watering Restrictions

Remember, year-round, landscape watering is allowed only before 10 a.m. or after 8 p.m. every day, except with a hand-held hose, soaker hose, bucket or watering can; charity car washes are permitted only at certified commercial car wash facilities; and water waste is prohibited at all times.

San Antonio drought restrictions, established by city ordinance, limit water use based on specific levels of the Edwards Aquifer. Look for well levels every day in the San Antonio Express-News newspaper or click here to learn more about aquifer levels and statistics.

Year Round
Year round restrictions are in effect when the Aquifer level is above 650 feet mean sea level at the monitored well.

Stage 1
Stage One Alert begins when the Aquifer level reaches 650 feet mean sea level at the monitored well.

Stage 2
Stage Two Alert begins when the Aquifer level reaches 640 feet mean sea level at the monitored well.

Stage 3
Stage Three Alert begins when the Aquifer level reaches 630 feet mean sea level at the monitored well.
