Program Requirements
Water Conservation
Participating golf courses agree to:
- Irrigate at no more than 100% of
ET
- Conduct
and submit irrigation
system audits
and submit annually
to SAWS
- Report monthly
water
use to SAWS
- Designate
priority areas
requiring irrigation.
- Install irrigation
meter and rain sensors
- Follow
daily watering
times according to
San
Antonio City
Ordinance
 Wildlife and Open
Space
Participating
golf courses agree to:
- Submit Inventory of flora and fauna on
the
site
- Allow for scheduled bird
watching or other
environmental
program minimum
of
twice annually
Water Quality
Participating golf courses agree to:
- Provide to SAWS a listing of certified applicators
and hours of training for golf course
staff
- Maintain chemical storage
areas consistent
with regulatory standards
- Make available
Texas
Department of Agriculture
reports to SAWS for
review
on annual basis
- Dispose
of hazardous materials
at an
approved
disposal site
Community Outreach
Participating golf courses agree
to:
- Develop a community outreach plan
that
includes programs for youth and submit
annual calendar of events to SAWS
