Level Two: Birdie Course
Program Requirements
In addition to the program requirements listed for Par for the Course achievement,
the following requirements
should be implemented to achieve Birdie Course status
in the Golf Fore SA program:
Water Conservation
Participating golf courses agree to:
- Irrigate at no more than 90% of
ET
- Develop and submit a Critical Period Plan
and Drought Management Plan to SAWS
 Wildlife and Open
Space
Participating
golf courses agree to:
- Prepare a habitat enhancement plan
Water Quality
Participating golf courses agree to:
- Take samples of water features four times
annually and test for basic ecological
parameters such as pH and water turbidity
Community Outreach
Participating golf courses agree
to:
- Offer reduce green fees for Jr. players
- Host two charitable events annually
- Conduct two workshops
for area residents
on pesticide and
herbicide
use in the
garden
