What is a Commercial Customer Irrigation Consultation?
It is a report customized for your particular landscape that provides recommendations to help reduce your water consumption. SAWS conservation consultants, who are experts in landscape maintenance and irrigation design, work with commercial staff that maintains the property and landscape to identify areas where water can be used more efficiently.
What are the benefits of a consultation?
SAWS conservation consultants will provide suggestions for improvements such as seasonal adjustments of the irrigation schedule, improved rain delay functions, changes to the system to improve its operation, and horticultural practices to improve plant health. Commercial sites may also be approved for irrigation design rebates if certain criteria are met.
Scheduling a Commercial Irrigation Consultation
Commercial irrigation systems are often very large and complex. To schedule a consultation, call 210-704-SAVE. Be sure to have the following information available:
- Schedules of all staff or contractors who manage irrigation on the property
- Details of the scope and design of your irrigation system (number of zones and approximate area of the system)
- Your SAWS irrigation account number
- Any reports (annual irrigation analysis) filed with SAWS
What happens after the consultation?
SAWS staff will provide a detailed report outlining recommendations for saving water at your location. This may include:
- Schedule adjustments to the controller to help you maintain the site efficiently.
- Landscape maintenance practices that may improve the health of plant material.
- Cost-effective options for improving the operation of the irrigation system.
- A list of maintenance and repair operations that should be completed for the system.
