8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. in the Alamodome
It's fun for the whole family... and it's free!
Now in its third year, Waterfest 2006 Family Day kicks off on Saturday,
May 13 in its new home: The Alamodome.
This year, six themed learning zones welcome guests of all ages
to come and explore the many wonders of water:
A beautiful garden and a wide selection of community and corporate sponsored exhibits
await your visit to the Learning Lab. In our H2O Hero Village you will enjoy
a number of educational games and attractions. The Water Experience features an
array of hands-on art activities and lessons, and the surprises in the Water Works and
SAWS Community Showcase will put smiles on the faces of every family member.
This year, WaterFest Family Day welcomes Alex Garcia’s WeatherQuest, an interactive
zone dedicated to teaching you everything from tornadoes to hail.
Rounding out the day’s excitement are over twenty scheduled
shows, demonstrations and educational experiences on three stages.
Laugh and learn at the same time as nationally famous ventriloquist
Nacho Estrada and Maclovio
present Respect… Recycle, Reuse, Reduce. Clap along
with Miss Lee and the crew
from KLRN's Cat
Paws and hear amazing weather stories from meteorologist
and television personality Alex
Garcia.
And there's more... a whole day more!
So grab the kids and join us at WaterFest
2006 Family Day,
the "wateriest" day of the year!
