Saturday, May 13
8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. in the Alamodome
It's fun for the whole family... and it's free!
You'll find plenty of adventure
in six themed learning zones where kids of all ages can learn,
explore, and have a blast:
Welcome to the town built just for kids (and kids at heart).
Visitors of all ages can join SAWS’ H2O Heroes to
learn how to save the day by saving water — through
educational games, attractions and hands-on activities.
A beautiful Xeriscaped garden and over twenty community
and corporate exhibits and presentations await your visit
to the Learning Lab, with topics ranging from water and
air protection to literacy programs.
Take a train ride, learn how to fish or see how fast a
water meter can be read when you travel to the Water Works.
Have you ever climbed a Rocky Mountain or rounded up hazardous
waste? Well if not, then just wait until you experience
the surprises that are found here.
Visit this interactive zone dedicated to teaching you
everything from tornadoes to hail. Learn first-hand from
the experts just how connected weather and water truly
are.
Visit 19 different exhibit spaces and displays to learn
about the programs and initiatives that SAWS is implementing
in our community. Climb aboard a backhoe, touch an ancient
rock and talk to an expert about your water bill. Yep!
You can do it all at the SAWS Community Showcase.
Remember, to attend SAWS WaterFest 2006 Family Day, parents
or guardians must accompany children at all times. Wear comfortable
clothes and sturdy shoes. Bring a few towels in case you have
too much water fun. No outside food or containers allowed
inside the Alamodome.
