SD.1 Enviro Scape
|
Target Audience: K-8
The three-dimensional model (approx. 25" x 30" x 5") illustrates residential, recreational, agricultural, industrial and transportation areas -- all representing possible sources of water pollution. People learn by using chemicals (drink mix) and loose soil (cocoa) throughout a typical community to see how their actions and those of others may affect our water quality. Enviro Scape actually emphasizes pollution prevention with a follow-up demonstration that shows how to prevent such pollution through the use of best management practices.

SD.3 Groundwater model
|
Target Audience: 3-12
The groundwater simulator is designed to help people understand the hydrologic cycle and its relationship to a groundwater system. After filling the simulator up with water and plugging it in, the imitation rain cloud mimics precipitation which flows into a recharge area and begins the movement of water through the simulator’s aquifer system. Please note that this tool does require some advanced preparation before beginning the lesson.
