Mail Order or Home Delivery

Receive up to a 90-day supply of long-term medication delivered directly to you for one home delivery copayment. A long-term medication is one that is taken to treat an ongoing condition, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or diabetes. To enroll in the Home Delivery Program, visit express-scripts.com, sign in and choose which of your current maintenance medications you’d like to receive through home delivery. Or you can call Express Scripts at the toll-free number on your ID card or 1-844-553-9111.

Specialty Medications

Due to the high cost of specialty medications, these medications must be ordered through Express Scripts specialty pharmacy, Accredo. If you have any questions or need help filling a prescription for one of these medications, call Accredo’s toll-free number, 1-800-803-2523, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to noon CST. Specialty medications treat complex conditions such as hepatitis C, multiple sclerosis, cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, etc., and often require special handling, storage and administration.

Prior Authorization

Some medications require that you obtain approval through a coverage review before the medication can be covered under the plan. The coverage review process for prior authorization will allow Express Scripts to obtain more information about your treatment (information that is not available on your original prescription) in determining whether a given medication qualifies for coverage under your plan. Only your physician can provide the additional information.

Remember to discuss your prescription regimen periodically with your doctor to ensure it still meets your needs. Consider generic prescriptions and mail-order to save on some of your out-of-pocket costs. The 2017 Plan Summary provides more details of out-of-pocket costs.
