Hispanic Chamber's Delegation Signs Certificate in Spain

Group commemorates latest major cooperation: a contract between SAWS and Abengoa Vista Ridge

During the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce's visit to Seville, Spain, several dignitaries took the opportunity to celebrate the recent agreement between San Antonio Water System and Abengoa to bring water to San Antonio.

SAWS recently signed a landmark contract with Abengoa to develop the Vista Ridge water project, bringing 16.3 billion gallons of new non-Edwards Aquifer water annually to San Antonio. The new project will provide enough water for 162,000 new families and be delivered to the city by 2020, securing the city’s water future for years to come.

"I have done many things in my life for which I’m proud," said SAWS Chairman Berto Guerra, "but being part of this Vista Ridge water project with Abengoa is one of the greatest things I have done in my career.

"Here in Seville, Spain, we may be thousands of miles away in geography, but through this agreement we are all joined in this great endeavor. We look forward to a continued partnership long into the future."
