Spill result of recent storms

Crews from San Antonio Water System are responding to an additional sewer overflow on the 12000 block of Farview Lane in the Salado Creek area near Wurzbach Parkway. SAWS crews will initiate cleanup of the area once floodwaters recede.

Heavy rains and infiltration into the sanitary sewer resulted in a spill that exceeded the requirement for public notice. See TCEQ notice for more details. No adverse impacts are expected since the spill has been heavily diluted by stormwater.

Areas prone to sewer overflows are the focus of projects replacing and upgrading capacity of sewer lines. Overall, SAWS has more than $170 million in capital improvements budgeted in 2018 to replace and upgrade sewer lines throughout San Antonio.
