SAWS Seeking Applications for BexarMet Integration Advisory Committee

With the BexarMet dissolution approved by the federal government, San Antonio Water System is now seeking stakeholders to participate in the BexarMet Integration Advisory Committee.

As prescribed by Senate Bill 341, the committee will be appointed by the SAWS Board of Trustees to help guide the integration process. Applications as well as additional information about the committee are available online.

"This advisory committee will ensure that we get a wide range of perspectives from different customers across the former BexarMet service area as the integration process moves forward," said Robert R. Puente, SAWS President/CEO.

imageSAWS will accept applications for the advisory committee from interested parties until March 9. The committee must include at least one representative from each county served by the system. Committee members must reside in or own/operate a business located in the former BexarMet Water District.

Once the application process is complete, SAWS staff will seek final approval of applicants with the SAWS Board of Trustees at the April Board meeting, with the first meeting of the BexarMet Advisory Committee occurring in mid-April. The committee will continue to advise SAWS Board until the integration process is complete.

Throughout the transition process, SAWS will continue to communicate frequently with the community. Public meetings will be held as needed, and information will be posted on our website and provided in future bill inserts.
