Sewer Spill in East San Antonio

SAWS crews are responding today to a sewer spill near I-10 East, west of Foster Road. The spill is estimated to be greater than 100,000 gallons and has co-mingled with rainwater.

Crews responded last night, but the area is rugged and muddy from recent rain, which is impeding access to the site. Today, crews are working to unstop the sewer line and clean up the spill area. A few dead fish have been observed. SAWS will continue to monitor the area throughout the cleanup process.

Customers are always encouraged to immediately contact SAWS at 704-SAWS (7297) to report water and sewer main breaks on a 24-hour basis.
