A Few Words from David Chardavoyne, President/CEO of SAWS
he Regional Carrizo Water Supply Program is a complex project to understand, especially when emotions and facts are added to the mix. How do you know what and who to believe? It is important to provide balance to the discussions about the Regional Carrizo project, and that’s why I ask you to check the source of information on the project.
As President and CEO of SAWS, it is my commitment not only to provide the facts surrounding the Regional Carrizo project but also to make my management team and myself accessible to answer your questions.
In the past two years, I have assembled a senior management team that not only knows the business of water, but also recognizes the special value of water. As such, I give my personal assurance that there will always be adequate water for the residents, agriculture and businesses in Gonzales and Wilson counties – now and in the future. The SAWS Board of Trustees also supports this commitment.
It’s also important to understand that SAWS is leasing water from the region, contrary to what is being said about “taking water.” We are leasing available water from property owners who have the right to lease their own water.
As we move forward through this process, I ask you to find out more about the facts, and remember to check the source. Let’s work together to ensure sustainable water supplies for the region.
