This fee is combined with the Volumetric Charge to make up the Water Service Charge portion of the bill.
Water Supply Fee
This fee directly funds the acquisition of new water supplies to reduce San Antonio's dependence on the Edwards Aquifer. The Water Supply Fee assessed on all potable water service for water usage in every instance of service for each month or fraction.

Edwards Aquifer Authority Fee
Ordinance No. 87042 provides for the establishment and assessment of a pass-through charge of the Edwards Aquifer Authority Permit Fee.

TCEQ Pass-Through Fees
San Antonio Water System works cooperatively with government agencies to comply with local, state and federal regulations. As the state-level environmental agency, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality generates part of its operating revenue from fees charged to utilities like SAWS.
To help ensure you are aware of these increased state fees, SAWS now displays the TCEQ fees as separate line items on your bill.
The bill change was approved by SAWS Board of Trustees and San Antonio City Council and applies to all residential and commercial accounts.
