Precision, Teamwork and a Winning Attitude
Whether we are defending a state pipe tapping team title or responding to an emergency main break, SAWS employees are highly motivated and committed to excellence.

|
While water is one of our community’s most valuable resources, SAWS’ most valuable resource is its people. In a year of corporate reorganization and relocation, our employees surpassed all expectations and achieved new levels of productivity and efficiency.
Despite the addition of nearly 11,000 new water customers and more than 15,000 new wastewater customers, SAWS’ workforce of 1,592 accomplished more in 2005.
Our professional men and women often go unnoticed providing the community with uninterrupted water and wastewater service. We actively support our employees, striving to make SAWS an employer
of choice.
Career Development
Through our training department, SAWS is expanding its job family programs to support those who seek career advancement. A performance management process was also implemented to improve mentoring and manage employee development.
Education
SAWS supports employees financially through a variety of educational opportunities in water and wastewater certification, communications, safety and environment, and technical programs. Tuition reimbursement is available for continuing education at area colleges and universities.

The spirit of serving others is a part of our employee culture. Last fall this spirit moved a volunteer crew to the Mississippi Gulf Coast to help restore water and wastewater service to hurricane-ravaged communities. Working long hours, they accomplished six weeks of work in just two weeks.
