As a city-owned water utility, San Antonio Water System strives for complete financial transparency. In this section, ratepayers and other stakeholders will find the most comprehensive and latest SAWS financials, as well as archived reports and budgets.
The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) conforms to governmental financial reporting principles prescribed by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB).
SAWS prepares budgets and forecasts on an annual basis, using Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP) and a modified accrual basis of accounting.
SAWS monthly financial reports present financial and management information for all funds, activities and programs for which the SAWS Board of Trustees has been given responsibility to manage and control.
The Annual Report provides a yearly overview of SAWS operations and accomplishments.
The Quarterly Report presents a three-month overview of SAWS operations and overall financial position, focusing on the utility's mission to provide a sustainable supply of water and deliver these services in an affordable and responsible way.
