About SAWS Board Committee Meetings
On July 18, 2006 a board resolution was passed, dissolving the previous Board Committee structure (Technical Services, Water Resources, Environmental, Health and Safety, Management Services and Property Planning) and establishing a new Committee structure and roles composed of the Audit and Finance Committee, Planning and Operations Committee and Water Resources Committee.
Meetings will be held at SAWS Headquarters, Administrative Offices Building, Executive Conference Room (Room 695), 2800 U.S. Hwy 281 North, San Antonio, TX 78212.
Announcement: The San Antonio Water System Board of Trustees may hold an executive session pursuant to the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code Chapter 551, which permits closed meetings for the purposes stated therein in connection with any of the items being considered during the meeting.

Audit and Finance Committee
The Audit and Finance Committee assists the Board and executive management with overseeing the integrity of
SAWS financial reporting, internal controls and external and internal audit functions. The
Committee's role includes a particular focus on the qualitative aspects of financial reporting policies and
practices and the management of business and financial risk.

Planning and Operations Committee
The Planning and Operations Committee assists the Board and executive management with overseeing the long-term
planning and strategic issues pertaining to the operations of SAWS. The committee will address the human and physical resource issues needed to effectively provide
water, wastewater, chilled water and heat to SAWS customers. The Committee's role includes a
particular focus on asset management; corporate real estate; emergency operation and planning;
environmental health and safety; information technology; infrastructure planning, repair, replacement; water
conditioning and treatment; and system security

Water Resources Committee
The Water Resources Committee assists the Board and executive management with overseeing long-term water
resource planning and protection, including the areas of conservation; drought management; groundwater
resource protection and source water quality; water rights acquisitions; and water supply project
development and implementation. The role includes coordination with other Board committees and maintenance of strong positive working relationships with management; the Texas Water Development Board, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the South Central Texas Regional Water Planning Group (Region L), the Edwards Aquifer Authority and other local, state, and federal agencies, as appropriate.
