A virtual public meeting is being held on Aug. 4, 2020 at 6 p.m. to discuss San Antonio Water System’s (SAWS) proposed Dietrich Elevated Storage Tank Project to install a new 1.5 million gallon elevated storage tank east San Antonio to meet TCEQ capacity requirements for future growth in a rapidly growing part of the city. The project will involve the installation of a 1.5 million gallon elevated storage tank at 139 Springfield Rd. and approximately 600 linear feet of 16-inch water main along Springfield Road which will connect the new tank to an existing 18-inch water main at the intersection of Springfield Road and N. WW White Road.

One of the purposes of this hearing is to discuss the potential environmental impacts of the project and alternatives to it. The total estimated cost of the project is $5,937,800. The estimated monthly bill for a typical resident is currently $75.17. There will be no rate increase or additional fee required to finance this project. Financial assistance (or an application for financial assistance) for the project has been obtained from (or will be filed with) the Texas Water Development Board, P.O. Box 13231, Austin, Texas, 78711-3231.

An Environmental Information Document for the project will be available for public review online at saws.org/dietrichtankproject for 30 days following the date of this notice.
