A new low for SA — low water use, that is!

San Antonio is proving that water conservation works. In 2025, our community achieved a record low of 111 gallons per capita per day!

happy child with water in handThis means the average San Antonian uses only 111 gallons each day for everything from showers and laundry to cooking and landscape watering. SAWS customers have played a vital role in this success thanks to irrigation improvements, drought-resilient landscaping, and by finding and fixing leaks quickly.

The achievement also reflects the leadership and foresight of SAWS CEO Robert R. Puente. His focus on diversified water supplies, conservation programs and sustainable growth has helped make us a national leader in water stewardship.

In addition, the tireless work of the SAWS conservation team has added to our city’s success through education, innovative incentive programs, and partnerships that reduce water demand. Together, we continue to secure a more resilient water future.
