SAWS is replacing aging water lines that have a history of breaks in several neighborhoods as part of the 2025 Water Main Replacement Project 5 Oak Park Northwood Terrell Heights. These sites include: E Nottingham Drive, Northridge Drive, Shadylane, and Irvington Drive. Construction sites will involve both alleys and streets with each area noted on the map below. During the project, you may see lane closures, detours, or construction activity on nearby streets. At certain times, we may need to temporarily turn off water service while connecting new lines to the existing system. If service will be affected, we’ll notify customers in advance so that they may plan accordingly.

The 2025 Water Main Replacement Project 5 Oak Park Northwood Terrell Heights will install new HDPE water pipes. These upgraded pipes are stronger, last longer, and are designed to prevent leaks. This means less water loss and more reliable service, especially in San Antonio’s shifting soil conditions.

Set to begin this year, 2025 Water Main Replacement Project 5 Oak Park Northwood Terrell Heights is a part of the Water Main Replacement Program. The program is a water stewardship initiative and focuses on reducing main breaks in our system.
SAWS Shares Water Line Replacement Plans
February 10, 2026
SAWS staff hosted a meeting at the Tobin Library to discuss the upcoming water infrastructure project.
Set to begin in May 2026, this project installs 881 feet of water main – a little over the length of 1 Tower of the Americas!
During the presentation, SAWS outlined key details including project timeline, process of construction, traffic control plans, and what customers should expect when the project begins.
Towards the end of the meeting, residents had the opportunity to ask questions about how the work may affect their homes and neighborhood streets.
