Spill is within construction site and is contained
SAWS crews are managing a sewer overflow located at the 700 block of Ira Lee. A bypass has been established and the spill has been contained.
The spill is within the three-mile construction site (E-19, Segment 2 project) of the approximately $30.2 million project, which will replace existing pipe and is part of the EPA consent decree. No adverse impacts are expected; however, the amount of sewage exceeded the requirement for public notice.
