Water conservation remains a high priority in San Antonio. Conservation investments have helped keep water costs lower while reducing the need for additional water supplies.

SAWS’ Five-Year Water Conservation Plan provides a comprehensive look at our city’s water use patterns, use reduction targets and strategies associated with water conservation in San Antonio.

Water conservation is a communitywide effort! Feedback provided by stakeholders was considered for the plan, and is always welcome.

On April 2, 2019, the SAWS Board of Trustees approved the 2019 Five-Year Water Conservation Plan. The plan has been submitted to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and the Texas Water Development Board as part of reporting requirements.

Water Conservation Plan Annual Report

The Water Conservation Plan Annual Report summarizes the progress and effectiveness of implementing the conservation strategies outlined in the Five-Year Plan. The report is submitted annually to the Texas Water Development Board on May 1.​
