When drought restrictions are in effect, a variance to the city ordinance may be requested under very limited circumstances. Variance requests are carefully reviewed and not all requests are granted.

Request additional watering days during drought restrictions for new landscapes.

            Hose-End Variance

Request an alternate 7-10 p.m. watering time to use hose-end sprinklers.

            Water Fountains

Request variance for water features that operate during drought with conservation in mind.

            Athletic Fields

To keep playing surfaces safe, caretakers can request additional watering days.

            Large Properties

Variance for properties that can't run all of their irrigation stations simultaneously on one day.

            Power Washing

Power washing for health and safety exceptions may request a variance from SAWS.
