The San Antonio Water System Lift Station Design and Construction Guidelines document establishes comprehensive guidelines for the planning, design and construction of sanitary sewer lift stations and associated force mains within the SAWS service area. These guidelines are intended to ensure that all lift stations are reliable, efficient, safe and environmentally sustainable, while minimizing operational and maintenance costs over their lifecycle. They apply to any consultant, developer or entity proposing to construct or modify a public lift station, as required by the current SAWS Utility Service Regulations (USR) and applicable Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) rules.
The proposed July 2026 Lift Station Design and Construction Guidelines are open for public comment until October 2, 2026.
