SAWS is installing new water lines from the water station near the intersection of IH-10 and La Cantera Parkway following the IH-10 corridor north to a tie-in point east of the Heuermann Rd. intersection. Construction work and increased truck traffic will occur along both sides of the IH-10 corridor.
Traffic control will be in place on the access roads along IH-10, but the main lanes of the highway will not be affected.
As construction nears completion, we may need to temporarily turn off water service to connect the new lines to the existing lines. If service will be affected, we’ll notify customers in advance so that they may plan accordingly. This project will improve water service in a rapidly developing area.

Crews are still working in several areas along the IH-10 westbound access road near The Rim, from La Cantera Parkway to Old Camp Bullis Road. You may see work happening in these areas:
- Near Full Spectrum ER and Urgent Care & Panera Bread
- Between Chick-fil-A & Security Service
- Between Mattress Firm & McDonald’s
- Near the Smoothie King driveway
- Old Camp Bullis Road near the Ferrari dealership

Construction is currently underway at several locations along the IH-10 westbound access road near The Rim. Work is taking place between La Cantera Parkway and extending northwest toward Rim Drive. You may see crews working in the following areas:
- Near Full Spectrum ER and Urgent Care & Panera Bread
- Between Chick-fil-A & Security Service
- Between Mattress Firm & McDonald’s
- Near the Smoothie King driveway
Additional crews are also working underground between Old Camp Bullis Road and the Ferrari dealership.

SAWS Shares Water Line Installation Plans

SAWS staff hosted a meeting at Igo Branch Library to discuss the upcoming water infrastructure project.
Set to begin March 2026, this project replaces 15,100 feet of water main – almost the length of 20 Towers of the Americas!
During the presentation, the consultant outlined key details including project timeline, process of construction, traffic control plans, and what customers should expect when the project begins.
Towards the end of the meeting, residents had the opportunity to ask questions. District 8 Councilwoman Ivalis Meza Gonzalez attended and gathered information.
