SAWS is replacing old water pipes in your neighborhood. Work will take place along the City of San Antonio right of way in the University Park Neighborhood Association area. We will relocate existing water pipes and meters from the alley to the street.
Traffic control will be set up to help keep everyone safe. While crews are working, you may see temporary lane closures or short detours in the area.

SAWS Shares Water Line Installation Plans
June 10, 2026
SAWS staff hosted a meeting at Memorial Branch Library to discuss the upcoming water infrastructure project.
Set to begin September 2027, this project replaces 10,160 feet of water main – a little under the length of 14 Towers of the Americas!
During the presentation, SAWS outlined key details including project timeline, process of construction, and what customers should expect when the project begins.
Towards the end of the meeting, residents had the opportunity to ask questions related to right of entry and pipe installation.
