Construction Project Summary
|
|
SAWS is replacing aging water lines (or pipes) in the North Central Neighborhood Association that have a high likelihood of breaking. Additionally, we are moving piping into the street and moving water meters to front curbs. We will try to minimize disturbances to customer property, but there may be a need to do some trenching that may affect sod, sidewalks, driveways, and curbs. If that is the case, SAWS will replace the affected areas.
Streets affected by construction: Cliffwood Dr., Redrock Dr., Weizmann St., Edgebrook Ln., Burwood Ln., Dawnview Ln., Buckeye Ave., Schmeltzer Ln., Gilbert Ln., Marchmont Ln., Westmoreland Dr., Rosehill Dr., and Olympia Dr.

Project Update
March 4, 2025
Currently, SAWS is gathering Right of Entry signatures from residents. Staff has received about a third of the amount needed. Once approvals are received, advertising for contractors can begin as soon as next month. The project will then be presented to SAWS board in July.
Project Update
SAWS launches project at community meeting. Discussion covered project phasing, schedule and installation of new water lines.
January 23, 2025
Set to begin June 2025, this project replaces about 18,800 feet of water main – about the length of 25 Towers of the Americas!
Recently, residents in District 1 attended a meeting hosted by SAWS at the Westfall Library and discussed this project. Residents learned about the project timeline, process of construction, and what they should expect. Community members also spoke one-on-one with project engineers and asked questions related to their homes and traffic safety. District 1 councilwoman Sukh Kaur’s staff attended and gathered input.
While this construction is being carried out by an independent contractor, SAWS inspectors regularly visit the site to ensure progress and compliance with all regulations and codes.
