Senior Corporate Counsel / VP – Environmental Law & Regulatory Compliance
SAWS is seeking to fill one position, the title and salary are commensurate with experience. The job titles for consideration are a Senior Corporate Counsel OR Vice President – Environmental Law & Regulatory Compliance.
The Senior Corporate Counsel serves as the organization’s legal expert for the most complex matters within one or more of the following specialties: labor and employment, environmental, corporate law, public law, contracting, utility law, real estate, and land use law. Responsibilities include providing advice, counsel, representation, and analysis to the Board of Trustees, President/CEO, and Executive Management in connection with SAWS’ legal matters. The Senior Corporate Counsel may represent the Systems’ legal interests before local administrative agencies, special interest groups, or stake-holder groups in a variety of settings.
The Vice President – Environmental Law & Regulatory Compliance provides strategic and tactical oversight, develop sand implements legal and business strategies consistent with the strategic plan, long-range water resource plans, and plans for the development and construction of water supplies facilities for the System, in conformance with local, state and federal law, court decisions, and administrative rules and regulations. Counsel for environmental law & regulatory compliance focuses on unique and challenging issues related to environmental compliance and networks with state and federal regulators. This position service as a member of the Executive Management Team and reports to the Senior Vice President – Chief Legal & Ethics Officer.

Vice President – Customer Experience
The San Antonio Water System (SAWS) is seeking a highly qualified Vice President – Customer Experience, under general direction, to provide strategic and tactical oversight of all Customer Service and support functions including call center operations, customer payment centers, billing, collections, meter maintenance, and meter data review. Leads and executes Customer Service strategy and policies to maximize customer satisfaction and align with SAWS‘ business objectives, strategic direction, and mission. Drives the adoption and optimization of advanced customer relationship management (CRM) technologies, including AI-driven and automated solutions, to enhance customer engagement, service delivery, and operational efficiency. This position leads SAWS’ Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) project (ConnectH2O) by overseeing the transition from system-wide implementation to enterprise-wide optimization, integration, and transformation of Customer Service operations. This position service as a member of the Executive Management Team and reports to the Senior Vice President.
