Amy Hardberger is associate dean at St. Mary’s University School of Law and a registered professional geoscientist.
She previously served as an attorney for the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF). There she was national co-leader for the National Petroleum Council Environmental and Regulatory Section Study. Hardberger led the partnership with cities and interfaced with Texas state agencies on municipal water conservation policies. She also guided the organization’s efforts to stop authorization of TXU Energy’s proposed coal plants. She also created and authored a blog on Texas water policy.
Before EDF, she clerked for The Hon. William Wayne Justice, Eastern District, and worked as an environmental consultant and project manager for Universe Technologies, Inc., at Kelly Air Force Base (now Port San Antonio).
Hardberger began her teaching career as a visiting professor at Texas Tech University School of Law teaching land use planning, international water law and Texas environmental law, among others.
