David McGee
Vice Chairman
David McGee joined the SAWS board in 2015. He is president and CEO of Amegy Bank in San Antonio and has 34 years experience in commercial and corporate banking. McGee began his career with First National Bank in Dallas. Then he spent 23 years with Texas Commerce Bank, which later became JPMorgan Chase, where he served as president from 2002-2006.
In 2007, McGee started Amegy Bank San Antonio, where his team of more than 60 bankers issue more than $1 billion in loan commitments to businesses in San Antonio and Central Texas.
McGee is also active with several community and nonprofit organizations, including YMCA of San Antonio, United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County, Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, Cancer Therapy & Research Center and the San Antonio Economic Development Board.
McGee has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University. He is married to Paula McGee, a practicing attorney who focuses on contract law. They have two sons, William and Michael.
